Swampcat golf team takes 2nd in four-way match

Laurence Manning Academy took 2nd place Monday in a four-way golf match against Ben Lippen School, Thomas Sumter Academy and Orangeburg Prep at the Spring Valley Country Club in Columbia. Ben Lippen won the non-conference match with four low nine-hole scores from Patrick McClure (37), Austin Murray (38), David Faultley (46) and Jake Fleming (49). The team posted a total of 170. Laurence Manning Academy had a score of 172. Van Gardner was the low man for LMA with a round of 39. Orangeburg Pep placed 3rd in the match with a four-round, nine-hole score of 178. Corey Antley posted the lowest round for OP, putting a 43. Thomas Sumter Academy placed 4th in the event with four-round score of 217. Tyler Grey had the lowest round of the day for TSA scoring a 33. Tyler Grey of Thomas Sumter Academy had the lowest round of the match with a 3-under-par round of 33 and was named medalist of the event.
