Adult Ed recognized by state Office of Adult Education

Clarendon County Adult Education Transition Specialist Ann Cutter and teacher Ruth Maple were both inducted into the state Office of Adult Education Hall of Fame on Friday during the Spring Training Institute and Celebrating Our Success Luncheon held at Brookland Banquet and Conference Center in Columbia.

The Clarendon County Adult Education English language-civics program received the Civics Citizenship Award for the highest percentage of English-as-a-second-language students achieving citizenship during the 2015-16 school year.

Executive Director Lisa Justice and teacher Beverly Felder accepted the award from state Director Mike King. During the training institute, Justice and Cuter were asked to present a session on the new Career Pathways Initiative, sharing the best practices of our new student orientation process with other adult education programs.
