A 44-year-old Manning man was charged about 3:30 p.m. Jan. 15 with leaving the scene of a wreck and operating an uninsured vehicle after the Manning Police Department located him at his home about 45 minutes after a vehicle wreck at the intersection of Brooks and Boyce streets in Manning. According to reports, police found James Sinkler of 1427 Westwood Drive in Manning at his home, where he told police he left the scene of the wreck because he needed to take an insulin shot. Police noted that Sinkler had not called 911 to say that was why he had to leave the scene of the wreck. Sinkler then allegedly admitted that he didn’t have vehicle insurance, and he was scared to stay at the scene of the wreck. Sinkler agreed to go to the department with police, after which he was taken to the Clarendon County Detention Center and booked on the aforementioned charges.
