A look back: Turbeville woman charged with felony DUI

A 23-year-old Turbeville woman was charged June 19 with felony DUI resulting in death after a wreck in Lake City killed the 18-year-old passenger of a vehicle she was allegedly driving. Lance Cpl. Judd Jones of the S.C. Highway Patrol said Jamie Leah Floyd of 1165 Carrot Lane in Turbeville was allegedly driving southbound on South Green Road in Lake City when she ran off the right side of the road, came back onto th road and then again off the side of the road. The vehicle then went into a canal ditch and the victim was ejected from the car. Florence County Coroner Keith von Lutcken told The Florence Morning News that Dewayne Benjamin Harrington, 18, of Lynch Road in Coward, died from injuries received in the wreck. Jones said that a second passenger in the vehicle did not have any injuries. He said no one in the vehicle wore seatbelts.
