Anne Wheeler Johnson, 85, widow of William Seth Johnson, died Friday, Dec. 16, 2016, at National Health Care in Sumter.

Born March 29, 1931, in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Samuel Mood Wheeler and Mariah Dinkins Wheeler. She was adopted and raised by her aunt and uncle, Bess and Clarence Wheeler. She was a retired secretary at Manning High School with many years of service, a charter member of Grace Christian Fellowship Church and a founding member of Virginia's Pride Garden Club.

She is survived by four daughters, Cynthia Roark (Tommy) of Manning, Cheryl DuBose (Tony) of Alcolu, Rhonda Rainey (Lin) of Manning and Mandy Boland (Edward) of Martinez, Georgia; a sister, Helen Ryan of Rock Hill; nine grandchildren; and fourteen great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her adopted parents; three brothers; and four sisters.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 19, 2016, at Grace Christian Fellowship Church with the Rev. Mike Murdoch officiating. Burial will follow in the Wilson Community Cemetery at Union United Methodist Church.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 18, 2016, at Stephens Funeral Home.
