Wreck with injuries on I-95

The S.C. Highway Patrol is reporting a wreck with injuries at the 107 southbound mile-marker on Interstate 95.


Sumter Sheriff’s Office offers $2,500 reward for information on fatal shooting

The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office is offering a reward of up to $2,500 for information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person wanted for the Sept. 14 shooting death of 17-year-old Jaquelle Dinkins on Apollo Street in Wedgefield.
Deputies responded to the 200 block of Apollo Street about 12:15 a.m. Sept. 14 and found Dinkins lying on the ground, unresponsive.
Witnesses said they knocked on the door of a home on Apollo Street and an occupant tried to pull them inside. As they fled, shots were fired and Dinkins was hit.
No suspects have been named.

Dancer’s Workshop to perform in Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade

Donna Prothro and her dancers had good reason to be excited last week.
The Dancer’s Workshop was abuzz with excitement as Prothro and her dancers prepared to spend Thanksgiving week in New York City in the lead-up to a performance in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
This will be Prothro’s second group of young ladies to perform. Another group performed in 2014. Both times, Prothro sent a video of the students’ recital to Spirit of America Productions.
