Raymond Allen Powell, 52, husband of Pamela Echols Powell, died Sunday, Nov. 27, 2016, in McLeod Hospice House in Florence.
Born Jan. 7, 1964, in Florence, he was a son of Nora W. Smith and the late Marvin “Sleepy” Powell. He attended Kingstree Senior High and was retired from Milliken Co. Raymond was a member of Sandy Bay Pentecostal Holiness Church and loved hunting and fishing, especially in Black River.
Survivors besides his mother and his wife, both of Kingstree, including his stepfather, H.B. Smith of Kingstree; his daughter, Samantha (Scott) Lee of Cades; his son, Joshua (Brittany) Powell of Cades; his stepsons, Vernon W. Wise of Texas and Matthew A. (Claire) Wise of Kingstree; his sisters, Malinda Threatt,of Chester and Johnnie Sue Hartman of Lancaster; a brother, Randy Powell of Chester; and 13 grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, 2016, in Sandy Bay Pentecostal Holiness Church. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall, following the service.
