A 31-year-old woman living on Nelson Circle in Manning told the Manning Police Department about 11:23 p.m. Nov. 1 that a 39-year-old man also living in the home grabbed her with both arms by the neck, pushed her out of a bedroom, pushed her to the floor with his knee, held her down, and placed both hands around her neck choking her after a fight over the TV being too loud in the home. According to reports, police responded to the home and separated the couple, and the man said that the TV had been too loud, and he asked the woman to turn it down. She refused, and he took the cord to the TV to the bedroom. He said the woman broke down the door and came at him "ready to fight." He said the woman "pushed (him) in the face" and that he pushed her back to get her off him. The woman said when she initially got free and went to call the police, the man took the phone from her. The only other person in the home at the time, a child, was asleep. Police told the alleged victim that they could make no arrests due to no corroboration. They said the woman cursed loudly during the whole investigation, while the man remained calm.
