Sumter Sheriff's Office offers $2,500 reward for information on fatal shooting

The Sumter County Sheriff's Office is offering a reward of up to $2,500 for information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person wanted for the Sept. 14 shooting death of 17-year-old Jaquelle Dinkins on Apollo Street in Wedgefield.

Deputies responded to the 200 block of Apollo Street about 12:15 a.m. Sept. 14 and found Dinkins lying on the ground, unresponsive.

Witnesses said they knocked on the door of a home on Apollo Street and an occupant tried to pull them inside. As they fled, shots were fired and Dinkins was hit.

No suspects have been named.
