Laurence Manning Academy senior Colton Ardis got the surprise of a lifetime on Friday night.

Long before his team destroyed longtime rival Wilson Hall by 35-0, Ardis was greeted by his brother, U.S. Air Force Tech Sgt. Jonathan Ardis, who came on the field for the coin toss before the game.

"I've never had the chance to see my younger brother play football in high school, and he's always asked 'When are you going to see me play?" Ardis wrote on social media.

Due to extensive deployments in Qatar, Ardis was never able to make it to a varsity game, he said.

"It was an emotional moment for the both of us," he said. "I can't wait to watch him play ball in college, and I will definitely come and watch him play in those games."

Colton Ardis, who is a linebacker on defense and a running back on offense, was able to get a second-quarter interception as his brother watched.
