More than 5,000 Santee Electric customers are currently without power in the Summerton, Jordan and Manning areas, according to the company's outage map. According to the map, four total outages has rendered about 5,820 Clarendon residents without power. Two homes in Florence and three homes in Williamsburg County are without power, although it is unknown if that is related to Clarendon's outage. The Santee Electric Cooperative Inc. Facebook page says a wreck caused the current outages, after a vehicle broke a transmission pole that supplies the company's substations with electricity.
