Vehicle hits pedestrian on Raccoon Road

The S.C. Highway Patrol is reporting a vehicle wreck with a pedestrian in the 12000 block of Raccoon Road in Manning. This is near the intersection of King and Raccoon roads. Traffic may be slower during this time.

Rosa Lee Sims Moore

Rosa Lee Sims Moore, 88, widow of David Wells Moore, died Wednesday, August 24, 2016, at Northwoods Senior Living and Memory Care.

Born May 17, 1929, in Turbeville, she was a daughter of the late Walter Dudley Sims and the late Drucilla Beard Sims. She was a member of Manning First Assembly of God.

She is survived by two sons, George Thomas Richburg (Helen) and John Wesley Richburg (Barbara), both of Manning; a daughter, Sandra Keller of Lexington; ten grandchildren; and sixteen great grandchildren.

The S.C. Highway Patrol is reporting a traffic light defect at Raccoon Road and Alex Harvin Highway. Traffic may be slower during this time.

Locals collecting items for Louisiana flood victims

Concerned Citizens of Clarendon County are organizing a flood drive for the victims of the Louisiana flood. They will accept any non-perishable foot items and any other items you think might assist the flood victims. Please drop off items at either the Chamber of Commerce, 19 N. Brooks St. in Maning, or The Manning Times, 230 E. Boyce St. in Manning. Items will be accepted from Monday through Sept. 9.
