District 3 registration Tuesday, Wednesday

Clarendon School District 3 will hold registration for the 2016-17 school year from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 2 and 1-6 p.m. Aug. 3 in the cafeteria of East Clarendon High School. Students enrolling for the first time need to bring a copy of the child’s birth certificate, immunization records, proof of residence and Medicaid card (if applicable). Students with a change of address or student who own land in Clarendon District 3 need to bring proof of residence. The following are acceptable documentation of proof of residence. MPD seeks suspect who robbed store owner

The Manning Police Department is looking for a suspect who grabbed money from a local store owner and fled early Monday morning.
Inv. Rick Elms said a black male wearing a black hoodie and grey shorts approached the owner of T’s Express at Church and Boyce streets about 5 a.m Monday while the man was opening the store.

Law Enforcement to host Safe Night Out

Local police and the community will join together from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Clarendon County Community Complex gymnasium behind Weldon Auditorium to celebrate 2016 National Night Out, an initiative to foster relationships between children and local law enforcement. This is a countywide event that will feature food, music, fun and activities. There will be free school supplies for children attending. Come and work together for a safer community.

Dems to meet Thursday

Hazardous Weather Outlook issued for Monday

The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for Monday, with the possibility of isolated severe weather throughout the day. Temperatures should not exceed 93, though heat indices could go as high as 103.

Adult Ed to hold registration Aug. 22-23

Clarendon County Adult Education will hold its first registration and orientation sessions for the 2016-17 school year at 8:30 a.m. or 5 p.m. Aug. 22 and Aug. 23 for daytime and evening students, respectively. All new and returning students must participate in these sessions in order to begin classes on Aug. 29.
Dates for remaining registration and orientation sessions for the semester include Sept. 12-13; Oct. 17-18; and Nov. 29-29. Classes will begin at the satellite locations in Summerton and Turbeville on Sept. 13.
