Clarendon County's top Republican has been selected as one of the state's Electoral College members. Moye Graham will represent Clarendon County and the 6th Congressional District as one of nine members of the Electoral College who will cast their votes as part of the 538-member national Electoral College following the Nov. 8 general election. Moye and his fellow Electoral College members were selected by the S.C. Republican Party's State Executive Committee. Joining Graham are Glenn McCall of York County and Matt Moore of Lexington County, selected statewide; Terry Hardesty of Berkeley County, 1st Congressional District; Jim Ulmer of Orangeburg County, 2nd Congressional District; Brenda Bedenbaugh of Saluda County, 3rd Congressional District; Bill Conley of Spartanburg County, 5th Congressional District; and Jerry Rovner of Georgetown County, 7th Congressional District. "Serving on the Electoral College is among the highest honors any citizen can ever receive," said SCGOP Executive Director Hope Walker. "These nine individuals have given countless hours of service to our state and nation, and were rightly honored by their peers with appointments to the Electoral College." This is not Graham's first assignment from the committee in national political affairs. He was selected as a delegate for the National Republican Convention, which he attended in July. He wrote about his experiences for The Manning Times and manninglive.com. He has also been the chairman for the 6th Congressional District and received the James B. Edwards Award in 2014 during the GOP's Silver Elephant Banquet at the Columbia Hilton. The award, which was presented by state GOP Chairman Matt Moore, who is also a member of this year's Electoral College, is named after the first Republican governor elected since Reconstruction. Edwards was elected to office in 1981 during a special statewide election.
