Iran Deal secrecy unacceptable

Scott Tim

Today, we found out that the Obama administration secretly sent Iran $400 million.
This was no coincidence. The Obama administration knowingly agreed to pay Iran $1.7 billion during the same month four Americans were released from Tehran back in January.
While we are certainly thankful to welcome wrongly imprisoned Americans home, that agreement also occurred right after the president’s terrible Iran Deal was implemented. Then today, it was made public that a plane secretly airlifted $400 million of that money to the Iranian government, one which has long since been regarded as a state sponsor of terror and considered one of the most dangerous nations in the world.
It is truly unfathomable our current administration would allow this to occur.
The United States should not negotiate with terrorists. It not only goes against our principles and core values, but it also makes Americans both here and abroad more vulnerable to being captured and attacked.
The lack of transparency in this deal was unacceptable. This is taxpayer money, and people across the country are entitled to know every detail of this transaction.
They are owed answers.

I find it harder and harder to support our president (didn’t vote for him but he is our president). The Iran nuclear deal was terrible, for 1.7 billion dollars the Iranians agree to stop development on their nuclear weapons development (6 months from completion) they still get to work on the delivery system (3 years to completion). They got back 15 confirmed terrorist, they released 5 hostages, one of which decided to stay in Iran, and out of the three remaining only one was a natural born American. As for the 400 million, that is 100 million for each hostage, this combined with their release once the money arrived tells me that it was a payment. The coverup story is even more lame, what court is going to make the USA pay Iran? the same court that made Iran pay restitution to the Irainan hostages of the late 70s/80s, oh wait, they didn’t. Last thought on these last hostages, the Iranians didn’t leave Iran to get these knuckleheads, they went to Iran.

    Tim Scott for President!!!

What are you and the other congress
men and women going to do about this. Hillary Clinton was the one who started this and I feel that she needs to answer and be convicted of her misdeeds. If she was just a normal person she would already be locked up. Obama should also be held tried and impeached and/or locked up. It was not his money. Why has his birth certificate never shown to the public as requested by several different organizations and people? It is also funny how his father’s mother came out and said he was born in Kenya not the US. Why can’t he be stopped by our elected officials, they can do it and what is everyone afraid of. He is the worst president and his record will condemn him to hell for what he did to the people and everyone else. The bible tells that God said he would not destroy the mearth that man will, this is so true.

What a shame to have such an ignorant, uninformed US Senator.
This return of Iranian money to Iran was all over the news when it happened in January. I remember it.
How could you not remember? Too many vacations?
I will give you some credit, lots of people seem to have forgotten. But, for a senator to do so is inexcusable. Or, is it just that your an habitual liar?
The ONLY new information in the WSJ story was that the money was returned in foreign currencies since we have no financial relationship with Iran. Duuhh.
If there’s anything related to Iran that people still should be indignant about, it’s Ronald Reagan working with Iran (violation of the Logan Law) BEFORE the 1980 election to have them continue to hold the embassy hostages until after the election – so Iran could get the president of their choice just like Trump is Putin’s choice – and maintaining that secret relationship to sell arms to Iran (another violation of law) to raise money to fund the Contras (violation of yet another law). I guess that mentality of lawlessness is how the Reagan administration hit the record for most criminal convictions.
Americans capable of rational thought are happy that Iran is now being monitored by the IAEA, like every other nation with nuclear facilities on the planet except Israel, to insure they do not produce nuclear weapons.

First off Sen Scott is doing a great job. Second, the money back in January (1.7 Billion) was seperate from the 400 Million that was just sent. Third, the reason for the different currency is that the currency we had no longer is used by the Iranian government making it worthless, so we basically traded tax dollars for foreign currency and gave it to Iran. When the Shaw of Iran came to the US in the late 70s he forfeiitted all this money on behalf of his government. You need to ask yourself, why was this trade done in cash instead of electronic transfer, or in an international currency such as gold or silver? When you think for yourself and realize lies you can then remove the chains of deceit and you will then see that this administration has its own agenda. That are not the first and they will not the last. If we continue to believe blindly we are doomed. There is only one administration that I will follow blindly and they have been in office for trillions of years.

Why is there such backlash about Pres. Obama and/or his administration’s decision to send Iran the money they did? Sure, the case can be made that we shouldn’t negotiate with terrorists, but if my memory serves me correctly (based on my study of contemporary history since I wasn’t born yet), I don’t recall there being as much outcry about the deals our nation’s leaders made with Iran back in 1981 and 1985, respectively. Also, while it may be a legal technicality, if a Harvard Law Grad tells me he didn’t authorize a “ransom” payment, I’d be more likely to agree with him than not.

To drive home my point that what the Obama Admin. did was not illegal, here’s a WSJ article initially published on the subject 5 days ago (emphasis on the approx. 10th paragraph, about halfway through the article): http://www.wsj.com/articles/u-s-sent-cash-to-iran-as-americans-were-freed-1470181874.

What does Harvard have to do with anything? He could have been a Sumter grad aND the sheepeople would use the same logic. In 2008 this same knucklehead said Hillary was unfit to be president, but the sheepeople will still vote for her. Under your contemporary history did you read about Ollie North and how the Democrats wanted to impeach Reagan. This stuff goes on under every president. Bishop J said right when said that is only one administration to trust.
