It will likely be a while before investigators with the Clarendon County Fire Department and the State Law Enforcement Division have a cause for a mobile home fire that killed a 62-year-old Davis Station woman Thursday night.

Paralee Sabb of Ferris Street in Davis Station was pronounced dead at her home after 9:30 p.m. Thursday night shortly after a fire broke out at her home, according to Dep. Coroner Bucky Mock.

Mock said the woman's son had left the home about an hour before and came home to find the structure ablaze.

Fire Chief Frances Richbourg said investigators are "still looking at different possibilities right now" in determining a cause.

"We're taking a look at every option and possibility that there is," she said Friday night. "We're also interviewing several folks."

Richbourg said it will take an "undetermined amount of time" to find a cause.

"There are so many variables that go into a tragedy like this," she said. "We have to look at how soon we can gather information and then follow-up on what is found."
