Honey Brooke Evans, 5, a first-grade student at Walker-Gamble Elementary School in New Zion, currently holds the title of Little Miss Sweetheart of the Carolinas, which she won in Gaffney in December. She will now compete in the Miss Heart of the USA state pageant from Aug. 4-5 in Columbia. The pageant system teaches girls to give back to the community, and they hope one day to stamp out world hunger.
