The Clarendon County Sheriff's Office is looking for two men who allegedly attacked a Summerton man after he stopped to help them at a boat landing. Joseph Lemon said in an incident report that the suspects blinked their lights at him near John C. Land III Landing in Summerton, and that he stopped to see what they wanted. He said the men then jumped out with objects that "looked like a bat" in their hands. Reports indicate that one of the suspects approached Lemon, yelling, "What's up?" Deputies reported that Lemon drove away, and that the men followed him in a gray Dodge truck for nearly two miles down Greenall Road. Reports state that Lemon drove to his brother's house, waited a couple of hours and then he and his brother returned to the lake. Lemon said that he helped his brother put his boat in the water at the landing, and he then went back home. Roughly two hours later, he said his brother called and told him that his windshield had been smashed, and his vehicle door had been damaged. Reports indicate that the suspects where white males in their 30s. Both weighed about 150 pounds. Anyone with information regarding the suspects is asked to call the Clarendon County Sheriff's Office at (803) 435-4414.
