The National Weather Service out of Columbia has issued a special weather statement as of 8:34 p.m. Sunday.
According to the NWS, a strong thunderstorm may affect northeastern Clarendon and central Sumter counties between now and 10 p.m. A strong thunderstorm was near south Sumter about 8:33 p.m., moving east at about 10 mph. Wind gusts of 40-50 mph are possible with this storm. Locations of possible impact include Manning, south Sumter, Turbeville, Shiloh, Lakewood and Privateer.
