Clarendon Health System announced Friday the closure of East Clarendon Medical Center in Turbeville. In a statement sent to The Manning Times, the hospital announced that it will voluntarily end its Rural Health Clinic status effective July 1, and that patients were informed of this decision and contacted by mail in May. Patients who have not yet secured a new provider have been referred to two physician practices within Clarendon Medical Associates – Palmetto Primary Care, 22 Bozard St. in Manning, (803) 435-8828, or Eagerton Family Practice, 200 E. Hospital St. in Manning, (803) 433-0439. The physicians and staff at these practices are aware of the need to serve patients in the region and will deliver the same compassionate service as previously provided at East Clarendon Medical Center. When calling for an appointment, it will be important to inform the office of your status as a former patient at East Clarendon Medical Center.
