Barrineau Public Utilities issues boil water advisory

Posted
Customers of Barrineau Public Utilities have been advised to boil water for the time being. Office Manager Sandra Floyd told ABC 15 news that lighting struck a pump overnight, causing a loss of pressure that could lead to contaminated water. She said everything was repaired by Saturday morning, but customers should proceed with an abundance of caution. Customers are advised to boil drinking and cooking water for at least one minute prior to consumption or use. The utility has customers in Clarendon, Williamsburg and Florence counties.
