Posted
As the school year comes to an end, the second-grade students of Summerton Early Childhood Center were preparing for their Transitional Ceremony. Students practiced daily in anticipation for a night of celebration. Last week, students participated in fun transitional activities as a celebration of accomplishments. On Monday, students wore shades. On Tuesday, students wore hats. On Wednesday, students dressed up in old folks' clothes. They also participated in Game Day, which was held in the multi-purpose room. Students from each class competed to win the Top Mathematician Award. On Thursday, students wore crazy socks to school. Students of SECC engaged in STEM field day activities that morning. Students participated in science, technology, engineering and mathematics experiments and activities. On Friday, students wore their clothes inside out. SECC also hosted its school-wide field day. Please be reminded that the Transitional Ceremony for second-grade students will be held on Tuesday at 6 p.m. in the Cultural Arts Center. The public is invited. The school year has been challenging and exciting. Students have overcome many obstacles to reach this monumental point in their academic career. We thank parents, friends and extended family for their continued support and encouragement. We also invite them to come join in the celebration of this week's upcoming events.
