Sumter police seeking jewelry store robbery suspects

Sumter police are working to identify two men whose images were captured while robbing a jewelry store.

The suspects allegedly robbed Jewelry Wholesale, 41 E. Wesmark Boulevard in Sumter, just before 4:45 p.m. Monday. Four employees were in the store when two men with a handgun entered and demanded that they hand over their personal belongings, including jewelry, wallets and purses.

The suspects also took an undetermined amount of jewelry from the store. They then fled on foot toward Sumter Mall. It is unclear if a getaway vehicle was involved. No one was injured in the incident.

One of the suspects is described as wearing black shorts and a black shirt. He stands between 5-feet-11 and 6-feet and weights between 200 and 215 pounds. The other is about 5-feet-6 and about 165 pounds. Both are between 25 and 35 years old.

Both men should be considered armed and dangerous.
