Sumter Police: One Summerton suspect in custody

Sumter Police say that one of two Summerton woman wanted for alleged bank fraud and criminal conspiracy has been arrested. Jennifer Rena Lawson, 30, of 1188 Hall St. in Summerton, was apprehended Thursday afternoon, according to Sumter Police spokeswoman Tonyia McGirt. Police are still looking for Kenyell Lavon Lang, 29, of 12357 Panola Road in Summerton. They are accused of allegedly depositing worthless checks into accounts in their names and then making withdrawals prior to the checks being returned unpaid. Lang is described as a black woman standing 5-feet-6 and weighing 169 pounds.
