Summerton woman earns degree from Jefferson College

Summerton resident Elizabeth Lynn Adams graduated magna cum laude May 6 with an associate of applied science degree from the occupational therapy assistant program at Jefferson College of Health Sciences during the college's spring commencement ceremony at the Berglund Center in Roanoke, Virginia. The ceremony marked the graduation of 225 Jefferson College students completing their studies at the College for the 2015-2016 school year. Jefferson College of Health Sciences is a private higher education institution that “prepares, within a scholarly environment, ethical, knowledgeable, competent and caring healthcare professionals.” The College focuses on providing healthcare education and is an affiliate of Carilion Clinic. Founded in 1914 as the Jefferson Hospital School of Nursing, Jefferson College now provides more than 1,100 students with opportunities to become part of the healthcare profession, serving communities from southwest Virginia to the Shenandoah Valley and beyond.
