Several area students were part of graduation ceremonies at Coastal Carolina University's spring commencement, which saw more than 1,100 students receive degrees.
April Floyd from Manning graduated cum laude with a bachelor of arts in elementary education, while Jecquea Brown of Olanta graduated with a bachelor of science degree in biology. Nearby Sumter residents receiving degrees included Bruce Dawson, bachelor of science in business administration in accounting; Ja Keon Green, bachelor of science in business administration in accounting; Armonte Harvin, bachelor of arts in psychology; Julius Hinton, bachelor of arts in political science; and Devin Johnson, bachelor of science in business administration in marketing.
