A 32-year-old woman living on Drayton Street in Manning told police about 4:15 p.m. May 4 that a 19-year-old man grabbed her by the neck, choked and pushed her head into the wall of the house before grabbing her by her hair and slinging her around in the yard several times. The woman said the suspect also slung her to the ground and punched her with his fist, after which her young son jumped on the man's back to try and stop him. The suspect, swinging his arms, then allegedly elbowed the child under his left eye. Neither victim had visible injuries, and Clarendon EMS checked them out. Neither were transported. The woman said the suspect took her StraightTalk cell phone valued at $150 and left the home before police arrived.
