A woman living in the 200 block of Spann Street in Manning told the Manning Police Department about noon April 25 that a neighbor came onto her property and cut a small tree down in the back yard. The victim told police that the woman had asked her "about five months ago if she could cut the small tree down, and she told her no." The victim told police "she does not know what kind of tree it is, but it has sentimental value and is worth $800," reports state. Police told the woman that she could not value an item based on sentiment. The victim said she did not know what kind of tree it was. The alleged suspect told police that she indeed cut the tree down, and she was informed she couldn't go on someone else's property and cut their trees down. The victim was advised to seek a courtesy summons for vandalism.
