Sara Elizabeth Levitt was crowned in February as Miss Clarendon Teen 2016 and will represent Clarendon County in June in the Miss South Carolina Oustanding Teen Pageant. We will be publishing these little blurbs daily so we can get to know Levitt better.
She says her favorite blog is “The Skimm.”
“I read it every morning and it really sets the tone for my day,” she said. “By reading it, I am caught up on what is going on in the world around me, and I’m told interesting facts about companies, restaurants, devices, etc.”

The Miss Clarendon Scholarship Pageant is an open pageant. Being part of the Miss SC system we are required to have 4 Teen contestants and 3 Miss to compete. We would not be able to help a young lady with scholarships if the pageant was closed to Clarendon County only because there aren’t enough young ladies interested in competing due to all the areas of competition that is required in this system. We are lucky that we have a young lady willing to represent us and she has done a phenomenal job at it and has enjoyed learning about our area. This competition was started to help young ladies follow their dreams and to give us the opportunity to show others throughout South Carolina what Clarendon County has to offer so they would come and visit with us, stay in our hotels, eat at our restaurants and shop in our stores therefore, helping our economy. I understand your concern, but at least Clarendon County is being recognized and represented by a beautiful and well poised individual.
