Scott's Branch parents showing support

Posted
Parents at Scott's Branch Middle and High School have been showing their support in record numbers this school year. Increased parental support at the school is evident from the number of parents who have attended school conferences, visited the school and have gotten involved in the school's PTO efforts. In fact, our newly elected PTO officers are energized and hard at work. The PTO's goal is to support and promote the school's mission to prepare every child to successfully compete with other students around the globe. New PTO officers are: James Bannister, president; Helen Wiggins, vice president; Charnette Brown, secretary; and Tony Junious, treasurer. These new officers hit the ground running with a district-wide barbecue sale last month. They raised funds to support the school's student incentive program in an effort to recognize students who are doing well in academics and athletics. In addition to supporting the school's mission, the PTO will assist the school in increasing parental involvement. Parents have been extremely instrumental in the district's quest for AdvancED accreditation. Parents also serve as volunteers and mentors throughout the school year.
