Manning High School senior Makeba Harvin signed Tuesday to play basketball for Morris College in Sumter. "When I went to visit the campus, I had a pleasant experience, and I thought it was close enough for my mom and relatives to come to games," Harvin said. Manning High School Coach Darren Mazyck said that Harvin will be "an excellent addition to the Morris College program." "Coach Gilbert Wilson, you are getting a really tremendous athlete," Mazyck said. Harvin earned her 1,000th career point on the basketball court for the Monarchs during the 2015-16 season and helped the Lady Monarchs return to the 3-A State Playoffs.
