A 40-year-old Manning man was charged with disorderly conduct April 1 after allegedly yelling at and threatening an officer with the Manning Police Department. According to reports, the man was walking in and out of traffic about 6:20 p.m. in the area of North Brooks Street when he was spotted by a Clarendon County sheriff's deputy who reported the man to police. Asked how much he'd had to drink, the man answered, "Plenty." The man allegedly continued to yell at one police officer present and refused to talk. While placing the suspect in the patrol car, police heard the man make a verbal threat. He reportedly said, "Wait til I see you in the country, boy." The officer did not press charges for the threat, but the man was transported to the Clarendon County Detention Center for the night.
