A 16-year-old Olanta boy was killed Sunday after a single motorcycle wreck on Narrow Paved Road in Olanta.
Sumter County Coroner Harvin Bullock said Rufus McCray of Narrow Paved Road wrecked out 5:45 p.m. and was declared dead at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence a short while later.
McCray apparently left the right side of Narrow Paved Road, hit a ditch and was thrown from the vehicle, according to S.C. Highway Patrol Lance Cpl. Matt Southern, who said McCray was not wearing a helmet.
