Bank of Clarendon President J. Barry Ham announced Wednesday that Carla G. Corbett has been promoted from Santee office manager to banking officer. “Carla is a valuable member of the Bank of Clarendon team and is a special person,” Ham said in his announcement. “She leads by example and is well-respected by her peers. Carla continues to distinguish herself in the bank and in the community. We are very proud of her.” Corbett began her career with the bank in 1999 as a teller in the Summerton branch. She worked in that location for a couple of years before transferring to the teller department in Manning. As she continued to excel, Corbett broadened her knowledge of banking by working as both a receptionist and administrative assistant to former bank President A.C. English. In 2007, Carla assumed a customer service representative position with the bank. As she gained experience in this role, she was named the bank’s customer service coordinator in 2008 and lobby office manager in 2012. After the retirement of the bank’s Santee office manager in 2013, Corbett was moved to Santee and named office manager for that location. “The Santee office has been a stable and consistent performer uner her watchful eye and leadership,” said Bank of Clarendon Branch Coordinator and Human Resources Officer Stacey McInnis. “Carla is very deserving of this promotion.” Corbett graduated from Orangeburg Technical College with an associate’s degree in general business. She is a 2013 graduate of South Carolina Bankers School at Lander University. She is the wife of Brian Corbett, and they are the proud parents of three daughters, Hannah, Bailey and Lacey.
