Search continues for missing fisherman

The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office and officers from the state Department of Natural Resources searched again Tuesday morning in an attempt to locate Harry Lee Bradley, 61, who has been missing since friends dropped him off at the Pocotaligo River on U.S. 15 South on Saturday to fish. He was reported missing Sunday. Monday, a helicopter from the Florence County Sheriff’s Office coordinated its search with officers from DNR and Sumter Sheriff’s Office deputies who were in a boat below them in an effort to locate Mr. Bradley. That search, however, did not yield any new leads. Water levels continue to drop authorities said, which will aid in the search. Those water levels have fallen 6 to 8 inches since the search began on Sunday, they said. Effective today, there will be a morning search and one later in the day every day until Bradley is found. Although foul play does not appear to have been a factor in Mr. Bradley’s disappearance, anyone who thinks they might have seen him on Saturday is asked to contact the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office at (803) 436-2000.
