Pedestrian treated after being hit in store parking lot

A 72-year-old Summerton woman was treated by Clarendon County EMS and Clarendon Memorial Hospital about 3:30 p.m. Feb. 22 after a 67-year-old woman allegedly hit the victim while backing up her car in a store parking lot on Paxville Highway. The Manning Police Department reported that the driver alerted police after bumping into the woman with her vehicle about 3:15 p.m. that day. She said she did not see the pedestrian until contact was made, according to reports. The victim said she "hurt her knees when she hit the (ground) and that she had discomfort to her back," reports state.
