NEW ZION – Wanda Antonio Gibbons Jones, 70, wife of Joe Hilton “Bud” Jones, died Monday, March 14, 2016, at her home.
Born April 8, 1945, in Turbeville, she was a daughter of the late James Sidney Gibbons and the late Irene Yates Gibbons. She was a member of Olive Grove Free Will Baptist Church of the Pentecostal Faith.
She is survived by her husband of New Zion; a daughter, Denise Roberson of New Zion; a son, Joey Jones (Amanda) of Sumter; five grandchildren, Kodi, Hagen, Emma and Noah Jones and Staci Roberson; a great granddaughter, Arleigh Floyd; two brothers, Johnny Gibbons (Marbeth) and James Gibbons (Gloria), both of Turbeville; two sisters, Patsy Floyd of Lake City and Mary Wallace (Bill) of Turbeville; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Joshua Roberson; and three brothers, Robert Gibbons, Ronald Gibbons and David Gibbons.
A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, March 17, 2016, in the chapel of Stephens Funeral Home, with the Rev. Billy Griffith officiating. Burial will follow in Turbeville Southern Methodist Church cemetery.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, 2016, at Stephens Funeral Home, and at other times at the home, 4334 Old Manning Road in New Zion.
