Columbia resident Sara Levitt was crowned Feb. 6 as Miss Clarendon Teen 2016, and will represent Clarendon County in June in the Miss South Carolina Outstanding Teen Pageant. She is a junior at Spring Valley High School in Columbia, and manninglive.com will feature several snippets with her throughout the coming weeks so we can get to know her a little better.
Sara’s platform is Siblings Supporting Siblings, “which works to not only educate the siblings of children with disabilities on what to do when their sibling is being picked on and to teach them on how to educate others on the specific disability that their sibling has, but also to connect them to one another to let them be able to share stories and experiences in order to help each other out.”
Sara said she grew up with an older brother who has Tourette’s syndrome.
“It has definitely impacted my life and made me want to make a difference,” she said. “This is why I chose the platform: It is something very near and dear to my heart.”
