Brownie Annaya Richburg took a line from the Girl Scouts’ main tenet one step further recently, starting with Brownie Troop 519 to college coloring books and crayons to donate them to local hospitals and doctor’s offices “to help make the visits for the kids to the doctor’s office a little brighter and happy,” she said. The line states, “Use resources wisely; make the world a better place.” Through her project, titled Color Me Happy, Richburg has gathered donations at Palmetto Health Tuomey in Sumter, along with a few pediatric offices in the area. Donations may also be submitted to Jevhoah Missionary Baptist Church, attn: Girl Scouts, 803 S. Harvin St., Sumter, SC 29150.
