Christina Darby handed in her resignation Thursday to the Clarendon County Chamber of Commerce.
Darby, a Summerton native, had served as executive director since winter 2015, and had previously served as assistant to former director Dawn Griffith since spring 2014.
“All of you have become my friends and I will always treasure your friendship and support,” Darby said. “From my heart, I have tried to tell the story of our wonderful way of life in Clarendon County. Thank you for the opportunity to be of service.”
Chamber President Pro Prothro said that the board met Thursday when Darby turned in her resignation.
“We want to thank her for the wonderful job she has done over the past two years for the chamber and its members,” Prothro said. “The board wished her the very best as she enters the next chapter of her life.”
Prothro said applications and resumes for the position will be taken from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday thru Friday starting next week.
