Democratic Party Precinct Reorganization scheduled for Saturday

The biennial Precincts Reorganization meetings of the Clarendon County Democratic Party are scheduled to take place 10 a.m. March 12 at local precincts. The purpose of these meetings is to elect a precinct executive committee person to represent your precinct on the county level, as well as a president and other precinct officers, in addition to introducing and voting on resolutions that attendees want to become a part of the party’s platform. All interested registered voters who will actively participate with the Democratic Party are invited to attend a meeting at your precinct. Delegates to the Clarendon County Democratic Convention to be held 7 p.m. March 21 at the Clarendon County Courthouse, will be chosen at this meeting. All precinct executive committee persons and delegates are asked to arrive at 6:30 p.m. to register before Convention starts. Delegates to the State Democratic Convention to be held April 30 in Columbia will be chosen at the County Convention. Delegates to the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, will be chosen at the State Convention. In order to be a delegate to the DNC Convention you must have voted in the Democratic Primary held on Feb. 27 and have attended your Precinct Reorganization, along with the County and State conventions.
