GREENWOOD - Robert "Bob" Carnell Mitchum, 81, a resident of 1047-3 Phoenix St. and husband of Judy Smith Mitchum, died Feb. 21, 2016, at Hospice House.

Born April 19, 1934, in Manning, he was a son of the late DesChamps and Alma Frierson Mitchum. He attended Clarendon County schools and was a U.S Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was retired as an electrical engineer, having worked with Brown and Root in Texas and on his own.

Mr. Mitchum was of the Baptist Faith.

Survivors besides his wife of the home include a daughter, Crystal M. Therrell and husband Tim of Rock Hill; a son, Bobby Mitchum and wife Dianne of Norfolk, Virginia; a stepdaughter, Ann Tuten; two sisters, Helen M. Wall and Vivian M. Morris, both of Greenwood; and a granddaughter, Reese Therrell.

He was preceded in death by a stepson, Eddie Tuten; and two brothers, the Rev. Furman L. Mitchum and Hayward L. Mitchum.

Memorial services will be held 4:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26, 2016, at Blyth Funeral Home chapel.

The family will receive friends at the home of his sister, Helen Wall, 110 Kimbrook Drive in Greenwood, and at the funeral home, immediately following services.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Care of the Piedmont, 408 W. Alexander Ave., Greenwood, SC 29646.
