HIDDENTITE - Doris Jean Tedder Rigby, 81, of Hiddenite, died Thursday, Jan. 21, 2016, at her home.
Born June 19, 1934, in Iredell County. she was a daughter of the late Jasper Jessie Tedder and Viola Kirkman Tedder. She was self-employed in poultry farming.
She was preceded in death by a son, Reid Eugene (Chuck) Stroud; and a great-grandson, Christopher Reid Caudill; and two brothers, Garland Aaron Tedder and Franklin Tedder.
Survivors include her children, Reida Stroud Allen, Beverly Stroud Flinchum (Linnie) and Brad J. Stroud Sr. (Kimberly) and a daughter-in-law, Pam Stroud; a brother, Jasper James Tedder (Dorothy); her grandchildren, Billy Gwynn Nichols Jr., Kelly Allen Cloer, Sabrina Stroud Caskaddon, Bradley J. Stroud Jr., Bryan Todd Nichols, Tera Elizabeth Stroud, Dustin Corbett Stroud, Carsyn MacKenzie Stroud, Justin Tyler Brooks, Crystal Lou Flinchum and Matthew Linn Flinchum; and her great-grandchildren, Bethany Marie Nichols, Landon Dakota Cloer, Logan Elizabeth Cloer, Payton Elizabeth Caudill, Noah Austin Nichols, Cody Lane Caskaddon, Bryleigh Elise Nichols and Greyson Reid Stroud.
Services celebrating Doris’ life will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 31, 2016, at Pisgah United Methodist Church, with Rev. Mike Duncan officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
