The Sumter Police Department said Monday that officers have made contact with a 27-year-old mother-of-two who was reported missing Friday. According to reports, Shardae Davis, told a detective that she is OK, but was reluctant to come forward because of an outstanding shoplifting warrant in Horry County. Police still consider Davis mising until they are able to make contact with her in person. Further efforts to reach her have been unsuccessful, said Public Information Officer Tonyia McGirt. McGirt also said police have not made contact with Herbert LInwood Butler, 34, of 114 Willow Drive in Sumter, who is wanted for questioning in relation to Davis' alleged disappearance. Two small children, 2 and 5 weeks, were found by officers alone and unharmed. Both are now being cared for by family members, of which Davis is aware.
