Robert Yates “Robby” Hamrick Jr., 70, husband of Jane Marie Pipkin Hamrick, died Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2015, at his home. Born March 6, 1945, in Shelby, North Carolina, he was a son of the late Robert Yates Hamrick Sr. and Eloise Greene Hamrick. He was a 1963 graduate of Crest High School and attended the University of North Carolina before joining the U.S. Air Force. A veteran of the Vietnam War, he served as a jet engine mechanic. DOUGLASVILLE, Georgia – On Sunday, December 27, 2015, Dora Mae Washington Raynor, widow of the late Ceasar Raynor Sr., exchanged time for eternity in Douglasville. Born Jan. 28, 1920, in Paxville, she was a daughter of the late James and Dorcas Brunson Washington. The family will receive relatives and friends starting Sunday, Jan. 3, 2016, at the home, 401 Alice Court in Sumter. Georgia woman found sleeping in car, charged with open container

A 29-year-old woman from Hinesville, Georgia, was charged about 2:25 a.m. Dec. 18 with open container after officers with the Manning Police Department discovered her asleep in a vehicle parked and running at a store in the 100 block of South Boundary Street in Manning. According to reports, Erica Nicole Andrews, 29, of 1243 Pineridge Way in Hinesville, was first spotted in the parked, running vehicle about 10 p.m. Dec. 17 by police, who believed the vehicle belonged to the store’s owners. Woman charged with shoplifting after taking clothes, costume jewelry

A 53-year-old Manning woman was charged about 1:55 p.m. Dec. 16 with shoplifting at a store in the 2000 block of Paxville Highway after an employee at the store told the Manning Police Department that the suspect took the price tags off jogging pants valued at $12.44 and a hoodie valued at $12.88 and allegedly placed both items in her pocketbook without paying for them. According to reports, the woman also allegedly took two six-pack sets of costume earrings valued at $4.99 each; a bracelet valued at $4.88, which she allegedly put on her left wrist while still in the… Read the rest

Manning woman claims harassment from other woman

A 28-year-old Summerton woman told the Manning Police Department about 1:10 p.m. Dec. 7 that a 26-year-old Summerton woman continues to walk past a building in the 1900 block of Paxville Highway in Manning, harassing her. The alleged victim also told police that she has been hearing from other people that the alleged suspect wanted to “beat her a–” when she saw her.

MANNING – Seward “Sonny” Abraham, 77, husband of Julia Mae Wilson Abraham died Wednesday ,December 23 ,2015 at Clarendon Memorial Hospital ,Manning, SC . He was born October 28, 1938 in Manning, SC to the late King and Anna Wilson Abraham. Celebratory services will be held Wednesday at the Hayes F. and LaNelle J. Samuels Sr. Memorial Chapel, 114 N. BOLO issued for five armed robbery suspects out of Greeleyville

Clarendon County dispatch has issued a BOLO (be on the lookout) for five black males suspected of an armed robbery at a home on Hope Harbor Drive in Greeleyville. According to reports, the suspects, who were wearing masks and who used a handgun during the incident, allegedly took off in a white 1985 Chevrolet Caprice with a South Carolina license plate number of JXV-646. While no direction of travel was immediately reported, Williamsburg County authorities were asking all adjacent agencies to be on the lookout. The suspects are considered armed and dangerous. Wreck blocking traffic in 3400 block of Paxville Highway

The S.C. Highway Patrol is reporting a wreck at the 3400 block of Paxville Highway in front of Lyle’s store. According to reports, traffic is blocked in both directions and is being redirected through the store’s parking lot. It is best to avoid the area, if at all possible. No other information is available on the wreck at this time.

Man: Woman choked, scratched him over Christmas presents

A 48-year-old Manning man told the Manning Police Department about 8:06 p.m. Dec. 16 that a 52-year-old woman choked him and scratched him during an argument at a home in the 300 block of East South Street in Manning over his decision to have another woman wrap his Christmas gifts. The woman told police that she didn’t know what the man was talking about, and that she was attempting to leave the home and the man stood in front of the door and wouldn’t let her leave.
