A Manning man has been charged in Pennsylvania for his alleged role in a hotel beating and kidnapping, the Fairview Township Police there said Wednesday.

Fairview Township Police obtained felony warrants for the arrests June 22 for the arrests of Jawan Montel Mack, 19, of Manning, and D'Mikel Woods, 21, of Sumter, according to Detective Jarrett Boyles and online court records. The pair allegedly assaulted Edward Jude Mulholland around that time at the Scottish Inns in Fairview Township.

According to reports, Mack and Woods waited inside the bathroom of a room at the hotel before allegedly assaulting Mulholland inside a hotel room there. The pair alleged that Mulholland owed them money, and reports indicate that when they didn't find any, the men allegedly tied Mulholland's hands behind his back.

The victim told Fairview police that he was then blindfolded, brought inside a truck and driven around for about 10 minutes. Mack and Woods later left Mulholland at an undisclosed location and he walked to a nearby business to call for help.

Fairview police said Mack and Woods were arrested earlier this month in South Carolina, though the arresting agency was not identified. Mack was granted a $250,000 bond at the York County Prison in York County, Pennsylvania. Woods is still in South Carolina waiting to be extradited.
