A 48-year-old Manning man told the Manning Police Department about 8:06 p.m. Dec. 16 that a 52-year-old woman choked him and scratched him during an argument at a home in the 300 block of East South Street in Manning over his decision to have another woman wrap his Christmas gifts.
The woman told police that she didn't know what the man was talking about, and that she was attempting to leave the home and the man stood in front of the door and wouldn't let her leave. The woman said there was no physical altercation whatsoever.
However, police responded to the home after an anonymous caller said that a woman was on the ground outside of the home after a physical altercation.
Neither individual had any visible marks or bruising. The woman said she was going to bed and asked the man to sleep on the couch for the night, which he agreed to do with police present.
