SWANSEA - Joseph Houston Mincey, 27, of Swansea, died Friday, Dec. 25, 2015.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 28, 2015, at Sardis Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dean Reynolds officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The casket will be placed in the church at 1 p.m., for viewing until the hour of services.

Born in Columbia, Joseph Houston Mincey was a son of Floyd Mincey Jr. and Robin Scott Mincey. He was a member of Sardis Baptist Church and was loved by everyone that knew him.

He survived four open heart surgeries and wasn't supposed to live past 5 years of age. Joey was the light of our life and will be greatly missed.

Survivors besides his parents include his stepfather, John Montjoy of Swansea; two sisters, Jennifer Mincey of Swansea and Judi (Josh) Haley of Manning; three nieces, Brianna, Taylor and Savannah Haley, all of Manning; his maternal grandparents, Floyd and Pat Mincey.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 27, 2015, at Culler-McAlhany Funeral home in North.
