Wallace Steinmyer Plowden III

LEXINGTON - Wallace Steinmyer "Bubba" Plowden III, 59, husband of Brenda Cherry Plowden, died Saturday, Nov. 7, 2015, at his home.

Born March 16, 1956, in Columbia, he was the son of the late Wallace Steinmyer "Son" Plowden, Jr. and Janie Raye Odom Plowden. He was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution, the Sons of the Confederacy, the Little River Hunt Club and he was a member of Saxe Gotha Presbyterian Church.

Survivors besides his wife of Lexington include a son, John Wallace Plowden of Columbia; a daughter, Rayna Plowden of Columbia; and a sister, Edith Plowden Yongue (Henry) of Jonesboro, Georgia.

A funeral service will be held at noon Monday, Nov. 9, 2015, at Saxe Gotha Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Jim Glatz officiating.

Visitation will be held an hour prior to the service at the church.

A graveside service will be held 4 p.m. Monday, Nov. 9, 2015, in Manning Cemetery, with Mac Johnson officiating.

Nephews will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to General Gathering, 149 N.W. Columbia Court, Chapin, SC 29036.
