The Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina has awarded the Clarendon County Community Development Corporation with a grant to assist victims of recent flooding with their utility bills. Eligible persons may come and pick up an application form from the CDC office from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 3-5 p.m. Monday and Tuesday from the CDC office, 212 S. Church St. in Manning, next to the Clarendon County Council on Aging. "After picking up the application, they are to fill it out and return it on the following Monday or Tuesday (Nov. 16-17) at the same hours," said Paulette King. "The elderly, handicapped and disabled will be given priority status." Applicants are asked to have proof of disability or disability status, either through SSI paperwork or a doctor's statement. Nov. 10 is the final deadline to pick up applications. There will be no extensions to this deadline. "Please have your utility bill and ID with you when you return your completed application," King said. "The address on the utility bill and the ID must match."
